As part of the German family-owned company LINK, customLINK develops reliable, patient-specific solutions that go beyond the proven standard implant systems for primary and revision procedures – including well-established systems such as the LINK MP Hip Reconstruction Prosthesis, the LINK Endo-Model Knee, and the LINK MEGASYSTEM-C Modular Tumor and Revision System.
LINK has been designing and manufacturing orthopedic implants since 1948, with the first custom device produced as early as the late 1960s.
Since then, more than 45,000 custom implants have been developed – each meticulously documented and archived, ensuring full traceability at any time.
Drawing on decades of expertise, customLINK delivers precise and effective solutions tailored to even the most complex individual cases.
Order Process
Our customLINK specialists work closely with the user to develop, design and manufacture tailored solutions. Upon request, these are delivered in sterile packaging. From the time of approval by the surgeon and hospital, the entire process typically takes just a few weeks.
All custom solutions are produced in-house in the Hamburg region, ensuring the highest quality standards – 100% made in Germany.
To initiate a case, please log in to our portal to submit and manage your cases directly. Alternatively, you may complete the request form and submit it along with the required imaging data tocustomlink@link-ortho.com.
X-ray and CT scans must comply with the specified imaging protocols provided below.
A design proposal is developed and submitted in close collaboration with the surgeon to ensure that the fundamental implant concept fully meets clinical expectations. It includes comprehensive information on the implant, bony support and screw fixation, coating options and compatibility with components from the standard LINK portfolio, thus ensuring a fully tailored and clinically viable solution.
Throughout this process, open questions are discussed and clarified in detail until the surgeon is fully confident with the proposed solution.
An approval form and quotation are provided to the surgeon for review. Once the final design and cost are confirmed, the surgeon signs the approval form to release the binding order. An electronic signature is also possible if preffered.

Implants are delivered sterile, accompanied by the required instruments as well as a detailed surgical technique and instructions for use, providing a clear guidance for handling and implantation.
Upon request, support during preparation or surgery is available.
In unique situations that cannot be addressed with commercially available devices, such as tumor resections and extensive revisions, custom devices are often a patient's last resort.
